Fodderty Lodge, dating from 1730, is a former manse that sits in 2 acres of grounds, situated in a peaceful rural location yet only 2 miles from local amenities. Adjoining the Lodge there are three traditional, comfortable and well-equipped self-catering holiday cottages that sleep 2, 4 and 6 people.
25 minutes NW of Inverness, Fodderty Lodge is set within beautiful countryside between Strathpeffer and Dingwall surrounded by the breathtaking scenery and geography of the Scottish Highlands. Amidst mountains, lochs, rivers, glens and forests we enjoy clean, fresh air, silent nights and dark skies – as a conscience, nature and wildlife abound.
The wide range of Highland fauna and flora offer many opportunities for the nature lover, from dolphin sightings to bird watching – red kites and buzzards are seen daily from the garden.

We are ideally placed to be a relaxed and welcoming touring base: in the heart of Mackenzie and Fraser "Outlander" country, in the perfect spot to explore the whole of the Northern Highlands – Inverness, Loch Ness, the Black Isle, Glen Affric, the North, East and West Coasts are all within reach.
There is plenty to fill a one or two week stay (3 nts min) whether you decide to simply stay in the local area or venture further afield and enjoy the feeling of coming "home" at the end of each day.
The area around Fodderty Lodge is a paradise for walkers and cyclists as well as being a great central base for day trips by car or motorcycle around parts of the world-renowned North Coast 500.
An early start affords guests the opportunity of a full day trip to Orkney from here or some opt to make a memorable journey on the Dingwall – Kyle of Lochalsh railway line – one of the most beautiful in the world.
For walkers the extensive Ross and Cromarty paths network passes conveniently by our front gate. Ben Wyvis – our local Munro – lies just to our North and is sufficiently accessible to be hikeable in a day. Knock Farril is our nearest hill and is walkable straight from the Lodge rewarding those who make the trip up with fabulous views from the vitrified ruins of the Pictish Hill Fort at the top: our local evidence of the layers of history and culture hidden in the landscape throughout the Highlands.
